HANDICAPED
SUMMER DIVISION
PLEASE NOTE:
THE OFFICERS OF THE LEAGUE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO INTERPRET, ENFORCE, CHANGE AND
MAKE EXCEPTIONS TO THESE RULES AS CIRCUMSTANCES WARRANT.
A. All league competitions, including tournaments and playoffs, will be conducted on a standard clock faced English bristle board. Boards with recessed doubles and triples rings will not be allowed. Each sponsor must have two (2) dart boards available for play during league competition, for each team sponsored for league play only.
B. The board will be firmly mounted and shall be placed 5 feet and 8 inches from the center of the cork/bull to the floor.
C. The diagonal distance from cork to the line should be 9 feet and 7-3/8 inches. The foul line shall be 7 feet and 9-1/4 inches from the surface of the board measured along the floor to the edge of the tape. A line, not less than 12 inches and not more than 36 inches, will be placed on the floor. A player wishing to throw a dart or darts, from a point on either side of the hockey line, must keep his feet behind an imaginary straight line extending from either side of the hockey line.
D. Lights must be affixed in such a way to brightly illuminate the board and reduce as many shadows as possible cast by the darts, preferably using a spot light. Lights should not physically impede the flight of the dart. Fluorescent lighting is prohibited. A flood light of 100 watts or a spot light of 75 watts or more should be used.
E. The sponsor shall be responsible for the sheltering of the equipment for league competitions only.
F. It is the home team’s responsibility to provide a suitable scoring surface (i.e. chalkboard, posey board, paper, etc.) that shall be no smaller than 11 by 17 inches. This scoring surface shall be located so that the score can be easily read by players and spectators, and this visible scoreboard shall be the official scoreboard.
ARTICLE II - DATE
AND TIME OF MATCHES
A. Competition will begin on a date determined by the Officers of the League and the regular season schedule will continue every Tuesday thereafter, except Holidays, for the number of weeks determined to be the season length.
B. Starting time for the first match is 7:30 P.M. SHARP. Line-ups must be listed prior to 7:30
p.m. so that the first match will commence promptly at 7:30 p.m.

C. No later than 30 minutes prior to 7:30 p.m. on a given night of play, the area shall be cleared of play by the home team captain and/or the management of the establishment and be declared open and available for players warm-up. All warm-up activities to be completed by 7:30 p.m.
D. A match may be rescheduled during normal circumstances through mutual consent of the team captains provided notification is made to the Tavern Statistician 24 hours prior to match. Uncontrollable circumstances may prevent 24-hour notice, and then notice must be given as soon as possible. All rescheduled matches must be played within two weeks of the scheduled match. No rescheduled matches will exceed past seasons length without prior approval from the Board of Directors..
E. All teams will play according to published schedules. In the event of a tavern conflict on any
evening of play, the home Team Captain will play at a place designated by the visiting team.
However, the designated home team will be allowed the advantage.
ARTICLE III - TEAM
PROFILE AND SUBSTITUTES
A. A team shall consist of a roster of four (4) who will be registered with the League to play at a tavern accepted by the League as their sponsor. Each team roster will consist of two men and two women.
B. The team roster shall consist of each teams member’s name, street address, e-mail address (if available), and telephone numbers and must be submitted to the Tavern Statistician at scheduled Captain’s meetings determined by the Board of Directors.
C. A player may only be listed on one (1) roster as of the first night of competition. That team
will become the player’s official team.
D. A substitute is any person that is not a permanent rostered regular member of another team
and who is not under suspension from the SCDL.
E. The players that are rostered on a team will have an ASP average that will be published by
the start of the season. The ASP average will be determined from the previous season’s
Tavern Division records. The ASP average is also based on a player shooting at least 2/3
of the Tavern Division season. The ASP average will be used for the entire season. If, by
following this criteria, an average can not be established for a player, the League Statistician
will assign an average to the player in question with approval of the Board of Directors. This
assigned average can not be appealed. It will be the players responsibility to shoot with that
average for the season’s length.

F. If a ASP average has to be determined, it will be done with the following criteria. The
determination will be based on information from other leagues that have been played in,
information that can be gathered by fellow darters, performance in known tournaments,
information that can be ascertained by previous subbing in an SCDL league, ASP averages in
respective divisions of SCDL Tavern league, the assesment of the League Statistician, the
assesments of the SCDL Board of Directors. Although this is arbitrary, the SCDL will do its
best to assess a fair average. It should also be clear that if there is an error in assessment, the
SCDL will endeavor to error to the side of the less competent shooters as this is a
handicapped league and is intended to bring some parody to all shooters of all levels and
ability. Again, the assessment can not be appealed.
ARTICLE IV - MATCH
PROFILE
A. A match is to consist of the following events:
SCRAMBLE FORMAT – 12 point match
Four Men’s Singles – Value 1 point each
Four Women’s Singles – Value 1 point each
First game Cricket, Second game 401 FIDO and third game if needed 301 DIDO
Four Mixed Doubles – Value 1 point each
First game Cricket, Second game 501 FIDO and third game if needed 401 DIDO
B. In the Single’s matches each man will
play both the other men on the opposing team, one
match each. Each woman will play
both the other women on the opposing team, one match
each. The handicap will be
determined by using the published charts and the hits or marks in
Cricket or the starting score for the 01 games will be noted on the scoresheet prior to the start
of the match.
C. Doubles Lineups - In the
doubles matches, the Captain’s will pick their doubles teams once.
Those teams will play both of the opposing teams, one match each. Either
partner in any
doubles match can cork to see which team goes first, but the player
listed first must always
start the match. Therefore the
players must be listed in the order they will be shooting. The
handicap will be determined by
adding both of the team players ASP’s and dividing by two.
Then by using the published handicap
chart the marks or hits will be determined. The team
with the lower ASP’s will receive the handicap and the hits or marks in
Cricket or the
starting score for the 01 game and
it will be noted on the scoreboard prior to the start of the
match.
D. The marks that are received by the
handicap in Cricket matches cannot be used to score
points. They can only be used to
eliminate the number of hits on Cricket numbers. Example:
If Player B is receiving four (4) marks by Player A, he may mark off
three (3) 20’s and one
(1) 19. He may not mark off three (3) 20’s and give himself 20 points to start the match.

E. In the 01 games, by using the published
handicap chart, the player with the lowest ASP’s will
receive a different number to start their match with. The winner of the
match will be the
player that reduces his or her score to zero. The last dart must be a
double to win the game.
Example: If a player has ninety six (96) left and they trip the 20, then
would then have thirty
six (36) left and require a double eighteen (18) to win the game.
F. The score sheet list the Men’s singles and then the Women’s singles.
The Men’s and
Women’s singles should be shot first. The singles matches, however can be
shot in any order
agreed to by both team Captain’s.
After completion of the singles matches, the doubles
teams should be decided by each Captain. Both doubles matches should
commence at the
same time. After the first round of doubles matches has been completed,
the doubles teams
should switch opponents and play
their second matches.
G. Scoring for the dart matches will be the
responsibility of all participants. Singles matches
can be scored by a member of either team that is not involved in shooting
the singles
match. Scoring for the doubles matches will have to be done by the
players involved in the
match as there are no available scorers at the time. Any spectator may
score either a singles
or a doubles match.
F. A cork/bull shoot before each game will determine the individual or team to shoot first. The
visiting team will always have choice on shooting the cork/bull first. In a cork/bull shoot, A
DOUBLE CORK/BULL BEATS A SINGLE CORK/BULL. In the case of a tie, the
cork/bull shoot will be rethrown in reverse order (i.e., the player to shoot for cork/bull first
will shoot second and the player who shot for cork/bull second will shoot first). The first
player to throw will, upon request of the second dart shooter, remove his dart from the
cork/bull. Only a single or double cork/bull may be pulled. Only a dart that bounces out or
falls out of the board may be rethrown in the cork/bull shoot. A dart not hitting the board is a
foul and cannot be rethrown. If the second thrower dislodges the dart of the first thrower, a
rethrow will be made with the second thrower now throwing first. Decision of the
scorekeeper is final. Darts may not be touched, moved or straightened out in any way while
in the board for a cork/bull throw. The determination is made by where the dart touches the
board without any moving or
straightening.
G. The handicap system is for scoring only.
All matches must be started by shooting for the
cork/bull. A cork/bull will be shot for the singles and the doubles
matches.
H. A player throwing the correct double to win (finish) an 01 game, wins the game regardless of
further darts thrown.
I. Any dispute that arises during the course of an evening’s play must be settled in a private
conference by the CAPTAINS ONLY!

ARTICLE V -
SCORING
A. The official scoreboard will be a visible one. Is the home team Captain’s responsibility to get
all pertinent match information from the scoreboard and enter it on the supplied score sheet.
B. Scorekeeping is the responsibility of all participants in the match. Spectators as well as well
as participants may score either a singles or a doubles match. Scorekeepers are not allowed to
distract shooters with words or gestures.
C. If a player is discovered to be throwing in violation of the foul line, that player is given a
verbal warning by his opponent. After that warning, subsequent darts thrown in violation of
the foul line will be invalid.
D. Any changes made to correct mistakes in scoring or calling must be effected before the next
turn of the player or team against whom the mistake has been made, either in his favor or
against.
E. In Doubles/Team events, no player may throw (during a Leg) until each of his teammates has
completed his throw. If a player throws out of turn, the darts thrown DO NOT count and the
turn must be rethrown by the correct player.
F. The Scorer may inform the thrower, when requested, what he has scored and/or what he has
left. He may also inform the thrower what he has left in terms of number combinations. It IS
also permissible for a partner, teammate, or spectator to advise the thrower what they have
left during the course of a match.
NOTE: This rule has been modified from the Tavern Division rules to promote the Summer
Division play under the new handicap format. It is also modified because of the lack of
scorers. The lack of scorers results in the fact that most every rostered member of the team
will be involved in playing matches at the same time..
ARTICLE VI - TIES
AND SHOOT-OFFS
A. Should a tie for first place result after the last night of shooting, a shoot-off will take place
within 48 hours of the match or at a later date determined by the Board of Directors. A
neutral tavern will be named by the Statistician and/or the President of the League.
ARTICLE VII - FEES
AND PENALTIES
A. Prior to registration for the Summer
Division, the dues and Sponsor’s fees will be
determined. Those dues and Sponsor’s fee are due at registration. The
registration date will
be published well before the start of the season and will give players
adequate time to collect
dues and Sponsor’s fees.
B. Any bad checks, inclusive of all bank charges incurred, must be made good within two (2)
weeks, or that individual shall be declared ineligible to participate. A service charge of
$20.00 will be charged. Sponsors and team members will be notified of any delinquencies.

ARTICLE VIII -
CLAMBAKE/BANQUET
A. The clambake/banquet will be held within a reasonable time after the finish of the season
with the location to be decided by the Salt City Dart League Board of Directors. A financial
statement shall be prepared and made available to members at the clambake/banquet.
A. IT IS THE CAPTAIN’S RESPONSIBILITY TO READ AND UNDERSTAND THE
RULES AND REGULATIONS.
B. The home Team Captain and Management/Sponsor is responsible for clearing of area making
sure proper equipment is available at 7:00 p.m., one half-hour prior to start of the match.
C. The home Team Captain is responsible for insuring that the match goes underway on time.
D. The home Team Captain is responsible for calling in match scores to the Tavern Statistician
no later than Wednesday noon, the day following the match. The Tavern Statistician’s phone
number is on the score sheet 1-888-274-5829.
E. The Team Captain is responsible for collection of dues and making them available at
scheduled Registrations or Captain’s meetings as determined by the Board of Directors. The
home Team Captain is also responsible for collecting signed score sheets and mailing them to
the Tavern Statistician within 48 hours after the match. Match result scoresheet must be
postmarked no later than 2 days after the match.
ARTICLE X –
LIABILITY
A. Liability for injury rests upon no director or Officer of the Salt City Dart League and all
participants and sponsors who enter
the Salt City Dart League do so with this understanding.
